Back to the routes

Mahalo,
It was idea, vision and try! The rest of the steps just follow!
The small DLG glider, 1m wing span, for flying on the backyard!
The steps done, Cad drawings of the new body, 3D printed prototype, reinforced
with some CFK roving /it works/! The wings out of Moth foil mold!
tails from 2mm balsa, boom CFK ravings on the conical pool!
The fist K1 glider fly well, so we decided with friends to make real one!
Not dedicated for some DLG competitions, more on the friends/fly/fun side!

Sandwich wings, styrodur core, vacuum bagging

Look of the K1 #1

New CAD body

And the video of one of the first trows!

Stay tuned, its fly ;-)

Not the last one, I was working in past monts on the "big" drone in size of
3,7m, the construction in full CFK, weight of the constr only 6kg, the full fly
weight 25kg! The whole project is under NDA, so I can not share more precise
info online! The representative of DADA agency will understand ;-)

Micro FLY

Let's go for a week or two back and "clean" whats happened on RC level. I was always looking to discover extremity on RC planes. The new Spectrum system allow now to build and fly /specially/ really light models. Light I mean 30g RTF. My fist touch with this micro level was the MicroFly1, good starting point for the future projects. It was build for a step too heavy because I was not able t get in short the CFK poles under the 1mm. The model is powered with 8.5mm brushed E-motor, equipped with Spectrum 6400 receiver /Thanks to Eric from http://solar-flight.com/ for support //, so the weight was around 40g. Way too much for this type of models, but still flyable! Here it is the "light monster" Some fly's was done on the backyard too. Here it is Luc trow the model! He enjoy as well! We was fly with Luc in the Town Castle hall, where the baroque architecture meet the hi-end technology, so goof feeling to fly around the hang light. Luc was made & fly with his freeFlight 8g creation on 1lipo and small electric motor. He reach the fly times close to 5min. Weary good! Then the second edition of the MicroFly2. The model was done for 10g lighter in construction, it fly weary good and I am satisfied with. The RC setup remain the same, the construction was improved! Th RTF weight under 30g, beautiful! Some test fly was done in atrium of shopping center! This will be never ending story, building and flying the models is something special!

Santa Claus Air

This December time is running true like a . . . . .
Somehow I come to idea to make this year the real flying Santa! Maybe this is the reason not to write on the blog, but I am back. Undefined flying objects are always difficult to realize, first tray was with 3D Santa, sleds, Reindeer and to be light as possible. Goal was under 500g. Santa was good pilot and Rudolf take for a power, no problem. Because of the box construction and strange aerodynamic I decide to build new one to be flyable indoor! I choose the "classic delta" wing wit Santa silhouette! Perfect, it is controllable, quite easy to fly and light! First fly's was done at indoor meeting, weary successful! And for the final, the show Air Santa was done at the volleyball game break. It was great surprise for the complete audience with music background and gym hall full of people. The drum supporters catch immediately the rhythm of the Jingle Bells techno background. Not too much space to fly, the volleyballs was flying around, but I did it! Show was great! Next show fly is planed for kindergarten surprise and some other events! The short video of the AirSanta will be presented here as well! Up to next time! dr.Lojz

Pimp up MC18

Here it is another design project in my design lab, the remote control from 1990 is getting the new face! I was using this remote for the competitions which I stop in 1995. Three years ago the old MC18 was wake up again, it is still work perfectly, but in a short will be converted on 2,4Ghz, the new transmit-ion system. At the same moment the face-lift of the RC will be made! Here it is the oldy MC18 All over the years, from my point of view not so much was done on right product design of the remote controls. Well some high lights was presented and this is good. From the othere side more or less all the RC products today looking as the gaming devices. Lets make some serious step forward! Working on the new concept, it is in early stage of design development, but already on the stage to be presented! Here it is, the pimped MC18 on 2,4Ghz The design process is somehow on the middle of the way. Some more steps will be done and at the end the plane is to make the body with the Laser RP technology, which is at the moment the best way to make one/two parts from plastic! Follow up this space, will be fun to see what is coming out from the Laser reactor!

We did it, Aerotow of the best!

One of side projects, not just for hobby, because I was learn making RC gliders, which give me a lot of knowledge from materials, technology and also to be patience, yes for a life!

Luc was made two foamies from a light Depron foam, he was enjoy like always to be creative. The electric motor plane is powered with 2s lipoly 700mAh at the weight of 150g, at wing span 800mm. For the sailplane he was take out the RC from Koaksial helicopter on 35Mhz. Sailplane is even lighter with good 110g.
He wish to proceed the Aerotow with booth creations. Last Saturday it was so far. I was invited to fly the towing plane, he was on glider controls. Well we was both a bit nervous but it works!
RC aerotow is one of the dificult steps on controling the models, booth pilots must to be simultan, precise and quick in case something go wrong!

Here it is the documentation ;-)

Tailless gliders history

For the first steps I like to clean for a bit the history! So where to start, lets take a look on my big love the RC Tailless gliders. A huge development was done over more the 10 years on his activity. Itt was a lot of falls, but also good competitions wins! Good fell anyway! Here they are, from free-flight to full Carbon Mystery II, all together!
