Much better high temp epoxy and vacuum infusion ;-) for impregnation! what also work is the last cover with Formenharz /Mold resin and again on CNC for the finish path ==> grinding polishing :-(<br />Corian or any other acrylic kitchen table material, yes first formed and then glued on wood base! I highly recommend to use Corian or original 2K glue, because epoxy bond only mechanical, take care!<br />The groves/profiles around the shape, Ohhh yes! Basically shape for the rest of material at closing of the molds and to get perfect closing line! The trick/tip od good mold makers, because only this way your product come out in calculated dimensions! My heart is bleeding when I see the the non trimmed products, with the layers of CFK out to mold middle line! The result the product is for this dimension thicker!! I...Agreed looks great, late to the comments I know. I use normal MDF for moulds and seal with Polyester resin. This looks really interesting and keen to try. What is did you bond the Corian to the Plywood with ? I also presume you first heat formed and then bonded it, 2 steps. I am also curious about the grooves around the shape you trying to make, whats the reason for putting those in ?
